How to get a Live-in Carer

How to get a Live-in Carer

What do I need to be able to get a live-in carer?

Book your free care assessment

Live-in care is when a Live-in carer comes and lives with you in your home, on either a short term or long term basis. All Live-in carers with Abicare are fully vetted, trained and experienced, with all the credentials needed to be a Live-in carer.

We will work with you to create a tailor made care plan based on your needs and preferences, so that you can receive the best care possible, as well as being matched with your ideal carer.

Live-in Care Assessment

A live-in care assessment is the first step in matching you with your live-in carer. The wellbeing of our clients is at the heart of Abicare – We will endeavour to complete your FREE care assessment within 24 hours of your initial enquiry, and have the carer in post within 24-48 hours.

During your assessment, the Care Manager will discuss with you and your family members what you want from your live-in carer, and create a care plan that suits you and your needs. Part of your care plan will also be based on your likes, dislikes and preferences, so that we can match you with a suitable carer.

We provide day Live-in care, night Live-in care and 24/7 Live-in care to ensure that you can live independently and comfortably for as long as possible.

What a Live-in carer needs

A Live-in carer is employed to live with and care for you, enabling you to live as independently as possible in your own home.  However, there are a few preparations you should make before they start. There are a few practicalities that you need to consider to ensure that they can work, rest and live in comfort.

A space of their own

Live-in carers need their own private space, both to sleep in and to have time to themselves. The bedroom doesn’t have to be large, just a standard single room. It is important the room is clean, well heated, well-lit and with good ventilation. We want to make sure your Live-in carer is comfortable, so a bed and wardrobe is needed.

Bathroom facilities

Live-in carers will need access to a bathroom. They don’t need to have a private en-suite, but please do ensure that the bathroom is clean, functional and that there is a place for them to store their toiletries.

Home Comforts

As your Live-in carer will be living with you or your loved one, whether it be for a long or short period of time, we would expect them to have use of the Wi-Fi and preferably have a TV in their room, so that they can feel as comfortable as possible.
