Q: Is Abicare registered with the appropriate bodies / professional associations? A: Yes, we are registered with The Commission for Social Care (CSCI). We are also a member of the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA). Q: What is Live-in care ? A: The carer stays in the clients’ home on an ongoing basis. They can fulfil personal care and general household duties. The level of care provided varies, depending on the individual needs. It can range from general companionship and housekeeping to high dependency, intensive personal care. Q: What areas of the country do you cover for Live-in Care? A: Abicare will guarantee cover across England and Wales. We maintain a strong pool of trained and qualified carers who are able to travel at short notice. All of our carers are managed from our offices in Salisbury. Q: How much does it cost ? A: Costs range from £600 per week. The cost will depend on the level of care that we have been asked to provide, and an individual assessment will be made. Abicare have lots of experience working with multi-source funding and will try and accommodate most circumstances. Q: Are there any other costs? A: Additional to your weekly charge will be a cost for carers food which is around £35.00 per week and we have a small monthly administration fee. For respite packages under a week the administration charge is reduced. There is an initial assessment charge which is refunded against your first invoice if we are employed to do your care. Q: How long does the care last ? A: As long or as short as you would like it too. It may be to give the main carer a one off or regular break, or on a more permanent long term basis. Q: Who are your carers ? A: Our care workforce is representative of the diverse needs of clients. Our carers come from a wide variety of backgrounds. We have both female and male carers many of whom are drivers. Abicare make every effort to maintain continuity of care for each service user providing the service is working well.
